When searching for your next animal companion, don't forget to look at your nearest animal rescue or shelter first. Even if you're searching for a pure bred pet, many shelters and rescues have a great selection of both pure and mixed breed animals ready for your loving home.

ARF encourages you to adopt pets that fit your lifestyle and ability to provide for and love unconditionally. However, we do not encourage animal hoarding. Animal hoarding results in over-populations of animals in a home that does not have adequate space, food, sanitary conditions and human contact in order for the animals to thrive and survive. If you or someone you know suffer from animal hoarding, please contact your local animal shelter for assistance.
